These Awards are designed to showcase and celebrate Paralegal talent from across the UK. Our categories reflect the variety of specialisms and roles which exist in the Paralegal sector. There are categories for both individuals and companies to enter.

Our sector specific categories require you to be working as a paralegal in this field. It is open to employees and self-employed and businesses.

In all cases our judges will be selecting companies or individuals who can demonstrate outstanding legal skills, client satisfaction, innovation and development.

The categories National Paralegal of the Year, Best Paralegal Newcomer/Young Practitioner, Best Community Champion Paralegal, Best Paralegal Apprentice of the Year and National Paralegal Business are open to any sector of law.

National Paralegal Of The Year

The NPA National Paralegal of the Year will be awarded to an individual of at least 5 years experience, who can clearly demonstrate how they have performed and exceeded client expectations and has made a significant contribution to their organisation or firm.

This candidate will show exceptional knowledge and skill. Leadership qualities will be evident.

The overall winner of Paralegal of the year UK is now a separate category.

Best Paralegal Newcomer/Young Practitioner

The NPA Best Paralegal Newcomer/Young Practitioner is a new category this year to recognise an individual who has been working as a Paralegal for less than two years. This may be a newly qualified Paralegal or an apprentice with less than 2 years experience and who is still undergoing training.

The first steps in entering a Paralegal Career are the hardest and this prestigious newcomer award will be awarded to an individual who can show extraordinary achievements and dedication.

Best Conveyancing/Real Estate Paralegal - NEW

The NPA Best Conveyancing/Real Estate Paralegal is new category this year and is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession. The successful individual will have gained a high level of experience, knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional service to their clients or employers.

This category is open to both domestic and commercial property transactions.

Best Paralegal Apprentice - free to enter

The NPA Best Paralegal Apprentice is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession.

The successful individual will demonstrate how they are embracing the organisation they work for and contributing to its overall success. Evidence of any success in their studies to date and vision for their development will be present.

Best Trade Mark Paralegal

The NPA Best Trade Mark Paralegal is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession. The successful individual will have gained a high level of experience, knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional service to their clients or employers.

Best Intellectual Property Paralegal

The NPA Best Intellectual Property Paralegal is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession. The successful individual will have gained a high level of experience, knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional service to their clients or employers.

Best Paralegal of the Year - Regions

The NPA Paralegal of the Year for each region will be awarded to an individual that can clearly demonstrate how they have performed and exceeded client expectations, and has made a significant contribution to their practice.

This candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience*

The two regions are North & Midlands and South. Please apply to whichever region is appropriate.

*If you have less than two years experience on the date of application please apply for Best Newcomer instead.

Best Employment/HR Paralegal

The NPA Best Employment/HR Paralegal is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession. The successful individual will have gained a high level of experience, knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional service to their clients or employers.

Best Will Writing Paralegal

The NPA Best Will Writing Paralegal is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession. The successful individual will have gained a high level of experience, knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional service to their clients or employers.

Best Probate Research Paralegal

The NPA Best Probate Research Paralegal is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession. The successful individual will have gained a high level of experience, knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional service to their clients or employers.

Best Family Law Paralegal

The NPA Best Family Law Paralegal is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession. The successful individual will have gained a high level of experience, knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional service to their clients or employers.

Best Litigation Paralegal

The NPA Best Litigation Paralegal is awarded to an individual who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to their work, clients and to the profession. The successful individual will have gained a high level of experience, knowledge and skills to provide an exceptional service to their clients or employers.

Best Community Champion Paralegal

The NPA Best Community Champion Paralegal is awarded to recognise an individual who went the extra mile for their community during the pandemic. The successful individual will have dedicated their time to make their community a better place.

National Paralegal Business of the Year

The NPA National Paralegal Business of the Year is open to any paralegal business that can clearly demonstrate how they have performed and exceeded client expectation and can prove how they excel as a leading paralegal business.

Will Writing Organisation of the Year

The NPA Best Will Writing Organisation is awarded to an organisation that demonstrates both exceptional legal knowledge and skill in the services it offers. The successful organisation will be able to demonstrate the highest of professional standards and integrity and embrace good regulatory practice. The organisation will also show a commitment to public legal education by providing prospective clients with up to date information to enable them to make informed choices. Exceptional customer service will be easily evidenced.

Best Law Firm Paralegal Development

The NPA Best Law Firm – Paralegal Development is awarded to a firm who can clearly demonstrate exceptional commitment to the training and development of paralegals.

The successful law firm will be able show that they encourage diversity and inspire personal and professional development of their paralegals, which in turn provides an exceptional customer service to their clients.

Best Legal Profession Supplier Award

The NPA Best Legal Profession Supplier Award is a new category this year and will be awarded to an organisation that provides the sector with technology or other services to improve the efficiency of service offered to clients. The successful organisation will demonstrate a high level of understanding of the legal sector with clear advantages for the user.

Best Probate Research Organisation of the Year

The NPA Best Probate Research Organisation of the Year will be awarded to an organisation that can demonstrate commitment to providing exceptional client service.

The successful organisation will demonstrate a high level of professional standards and clear information that clients can understand.

Outstanding Achievement Award

There are no nominations or entries for this category. The award is given at the discretion of CILEX and the PPR to a person whom it believes has promoted the Paralegal profession; championed diversity of opportunity in the legal sector; has been or is a role model for student lawyers or has demonstrated exceptional achievements within the wider legal sphere that positively impacts on access to justice.
